Acer Liquid Metal
A few details and pictures of a forthcoming Acer device that is said to be called “Liquid Metal” have appeared, courtesy of Russian site habrahabr.ru. The new Android handset has the same form factor as the previous model in the Liquid series, but Acer has built its casing of stylish brushed metal.
The phone will have a 3.61-inch capacitive touchscreen with a WVGA (480×800) resolution, and it’s powered by Qualcomm’s new budget MSM 7230 chip with a 800 MHz Scorpion processor and a GPU called Adreno 205. According to Qualcomm, the updated Adreno is up to four times faster than its predecessor Adreno 200, which is featured on most current Snapdragon devices, and it supports hardware accelerated Flash and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Where and when this nice-looking unit will be available is yet to be announced.

Android 2.1 Running on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
I know Android 2.2 is out, and I know you’d rather have that over Android 2.1 (bigger numbers means better, duh), but those who hang on for dear life to their Sony Ericsson Xperia X10s can at least be happy knowing that SE’s moving closer and closer to getting you guys off of Android 1.6. A video’s just popped up of the device running Eclair as it was spotted at the IFA conference in Berlin, Germany.

The LuvPad
The name alone is enough for it to catch my attention. Japanese manufacturer Mouse Computer today brings us a 10-inch WSVGA tablet running Android 2.2. Specs? An NVIDIA Tegra 250 processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal flash memory, microSD support, WiFi up to G, and it comes in WiFi and WiFi+3G configurations.
Those aren’t the interesting bits, though. The interesting bit here is the name: it’s called the LuvPad. How could you not want a device called the LuvPad? Exactly.
